To be Shareholder to be Donator

In April 2019, we launched our venture into the wellness industry or service-based business, aimed at enhancing the well-being of our clients. Initially named "Art Info Company Limited," our business philosophy centered around the principles of "Helping, Sharing, and Growing Together." Our founder, Mr. Ritthee Gurusingh, brings a wealth of experience across various domains, including information technology, integrated risk management, life insurance, marketing, and financial advisory, gained from prestigious financial institutions. Upon retiring from conventional employment, Mr. Gurusingh embarked on a business venture conducive to familial collaboration. Consequently, we entered into property management agreements with your esteemed entity, Amaravati Company Limited, owned by Dr. Budhacharan Budhacharan, operating under the name "Amaravati Ashram".

These initiatives arose in response to the adversities brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic, beginning in February 2020 and lasting until December 2022, encompassing a three-year period since the business's inception, which occurred just eight months earlier.

Amidst the crisis, the management team initiated special services for stranded foreign nationals unable to return home due to airport closures and travel restrictions within Thailand and abroad. They offered accommodation at a significantly discounted rate of up to 87% off the standard price (reduced from 1,500 Baht to 200 Baht per night) and meals at a discounted rate of 67% (reduced from 150 Baht to 50 Baht per meal). This allowed the foreign nationals to seek refuge during the difficult times. As a result of this initiative, the team provided assistance to a total of 10 foreign nationals from 8 different countries (including the United States, Argentina, Brazil, Japan, the Netherlands, Iran, and Spain), along with 3 Thai nationals. Among them, one individual was unable to cover the service fees, while another could only make partial payment.

Our team has opted to transform our business model from a "Family Business" to a "Social Enterprise." This decision, sanctioned by the Office of Social Enterprise Promotion (OSEP) on December 1, 2023, officially heralded the formation of "Chiang Mai Being Well Social Enterprise Co., Ltd."

Environmental Sustainability in Alignment with the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Since our service emphasizes Spiritual Wellness, it is beneficial for individuals to achieve a more holistic state of mind when they are in a positive social and environmental setting. Therefore, our care extends beyond just our customers to include our employees, the surrounding community, the society in which we operate, and the environment. This approach ensures comprehensive and sustainable benefits for all stakeholders involved.

The initiatives we've undertaken above set the course for our future endeavors. During the years 2019 to 2021, our team took a leading role, partnering with the local community in Moo 7, Rim Tai Subdistrict, and Moo 10, Mae Raem Subdistrict, to tackle the challenge of "buried landfill pits in the Moo 10 area of Mae Raem Subdistrict," spanning roughly 17.5 Rais (28,000 square meters). These pits had been receiving waste from various parts of Chiang Mai Province and neighboring areas, averaging 50-100 tons per day, causing persistent odor pollution and insect infestations since 2015. In response, we mobilized management teams as part of the "Supervisory and Monitoring Committee for Landfill Remediation," as mandated by the Mae Raem Subdistrict Municipality. Eventually, in July 2021, the decision was made to permanently close these landfill pits, paving the way for an environmentally suitable area and extending social assistance in line with the ethos of genuine social enterprise.

Under the Spearhead Social Plan of the Thai People 4.0 strategy, a report titled "Guidelines for Proper Waste Management Facility: A Study" was authored by Assistant Professor Dr. Ruttiphat Kalyanapat and Associate Professor Dr. Pannet Manomaiwibul. This report, supported by the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT), outlines our efforts to address waste management challenges and deliver solutions to the community.

Community and Social Aspects

We joined forces with local businesses along the Maerim-Samoeng Road, also known as Route 1096. Collaborating with the Chiang Mai Tourism Industry Association, the Chiang Mai Tourism Business Association, and the Maerim Tourism Business Club, we contributed funds for the development of the "Maerim Tourism Map" under the promotional campaign titled "Maerim, Doi Pui's Enchantment, A Myriad of Attractions," or "Maerim Jungle Valley of Joy." With a collective investment of 10,000 baht, we collaborated on the design and coordination with local entrepreneurs to create a comprehensive tourist map, finalized in 2020, as depicted in the following illustration.

At the same time, we have collaborated with the community and various organizations, both public and private, to enhance the economic value of the area by developing new tourist attractions. These initiatives aim to encourage community participation, mutual development, and shared benefits. Under this effort, we established a group called "Charming Maerim Associated" with the backing of the Mae Rim District administration, to oversee our endeavors. The objective is to develop the areas along the Mae Taeng-Chiang Mai Irrigation, stretching from Nam Rang Muang Pah to the Wat Pa Dara Phirom Temple, covering approximately 2 kilometers. Successful implementation of these plans will create jobs, livelihood opportunities, and economic value for the Mae Rim District, significantly benefiting the entire region.

In 2024, we forged partnerships with the "Doi Pumuen Community Enterprise" and "Hill Tribe Shops under Royal Patronage" to enhance their operational frameworks and product distribution channels. These collaborations encompass a variety of offerings, including homestays, farm stays, tea leaves, honey, fruits, and health tonics derived from fruits and tea leaves. Spearheaded by Mr. Charoenchai Chaikor, leader of the community enterprise and proprietor of the hill tribe shops, our collaboration aimed to foster a network centered around "Holistic Wellness." This allowed us to jointly utilize facilities and products, catering to our shared customer base. Additionally, it served as another avenue for fostering sustainable economic development within this hill tribe community.
